Thank you to everyone who came out to last nights Midtown East Neighborhood Alliance meeting!

Our guest speaker Bryan Henderson from RWRA Engineering gave an excellent presentation on the importance of urban tree coverage and the adopt-a-tree program available to our community. We learned a lot about how trees improve our neighborhoods — from air quality to property values — and how RWRA is working to increase tree coverage across Owensboro.

Other highlights from tonight:

🏠 Colonel House Motel update — the property on Triplett Street is planned to be sold to a developer with the intention creating affordable housing.

👋 Welcome to Bobby Patton, our newest board member!

📅 Our May meeting date is being rescheduled — stay tuned for the confirmed date.

Don't forget — free tree seedling giveaway on April 30 at the Sportscenter parking lot!

We’ll be doing some maintenance on the street soccer court at Legion Park, so starting Tuesday, April 14, the goals will be removed while crews get to work.

This project may take a few weeks, but we’ll have the court back open as soon as possible! In the meantime, don’t forget you can still get your game in at Dugan Best Park, which even has lights for those after-sundown matches.

We’ll keep you posted on progress and reopening - thanks for your patience!
