Another Truss Day complete! 👷🏗️🔨

We love when Kirby shows up with the crane!She’s are always amazing to work with. We are also grateful for community partners, like Hook 4 Hire, who provide a crane so we can lift these massive trusses and keep our volunteer safe.

We can’t say thank you enough to our volunteers who show up and help us every single day, in the heat, the cold, the rain… they are the best in town. 🙏❤️

The Owensboro Lions Club hosted the annual Owensboro Soap Box Derby race this past Saturday at the Ben Hawes track. 🏎️🏁

Little John, great grandson of long time Habitat volunteer and retired applicant coordinator, Lelia, represented and raced the Habitat for Humanity of Owensboro-Daviess County’s soap box car in six races! Thanks, John. Hope you had fun, can’t wait for next year.

There’s something special about helping build a home, and even more special when you get to build alongside the future homeowner.

Last week, the Kentucky Realtors visited Habitat while in Owensboro for their Summer Meeting and spent part of their day volunteering with us. Together, they helped build wall panels for Bell’s future home, and she was right there working alongside them. In fact, she found herself right in the middle of the walls that will soon become part of her family's home...a pretty fitting place to be!

We’re so thankful for groups like the Kentucky Realtors who give their time to help make affordable homeownership a reality for local families. Thank you for being part of Bell’s journey home!

To find the perfect recipe, you first need the perfect ingredients. And that's what our founders Dena Tripp and Debbie Shwetz were for each other. In 1997, they joined forces, or better yet kitchens, to help make cakes to entertain their friends. The cakes they made were delicious, unlike anything anyone had tasted. As a result, their friends and family asked them to entertain more and more. They quickly realized this side project of theirs could be something more. There was a gap in the world for delicious cakes, readily available, that didn't compromise on their ingredients. Fresh eggs, real butter, and real cream cheese; nothing was too good to achieve perfection. And perfection are those decadent, slowly melting bites, we all know and love. Flash forward and the Nothing Bundt Cakes brand has grown nationwide. Built on Dena and Debbie's vision, each bakery still has the warmth and nostalgia of its home-kitchen roots, but they also take a modern approach for the world today.

June is National Homeownership Month, and we couldn’t be more proud to celebrate what home means for the families we serve.

For us, homeownership is more than a milestone - it’s stability, dignity, and the foundation for a stronger future. Since 1988, we’ve been honored to help provide homeownership opportunities to over 170 families in our community, and we remain committed to continuing that mission.

We’re grateful to our volunteers, donors, and partners who make this work possible, and to every family who has trusted us along the way.
