💙 Please Help Us Welcome Olivia, Our New Program Director of St. Gerard’s Maternal Home! 💙

We are excited to introduce Olivia as the new Program Director of St. Gerard’s Maternal Home, where she will lead our efforts to support expectant mothers experiencing homelessness or housing instability as they prepare for one of the most important moments of their lives.

Olivia has been married to her husband, Zach, since 2018, and together they have three young children, Maren, Leo, and Daphne. As a mother herself, Olivia understands how important it is for a woman to feel safe, supported, and encouraged while preparing to bring a new life into the world.

Olivia believes strongly in meeting people where they are, finding common ground, and leading with empathy. Helping others has been a lifelong passion, and she is especially excited about the opportunity to walk alongside women during what can be an incredibly vulnerable season of their lives.

Her connection to St. Gerard’s actually began before joining our team. Olivia first encountered the Maternal Home while working with the HANDS program. She was touched by the women she met and by the mission of St. Gerard’s and now she has the opportunity to become part of that mission herself.

At St. Gerard’s, our goal is about more than providing a safe home during pregnancy. We want to help mothers build independence, recognize their potential, develop stability, and create a safe and nurturing environment for themselves and their babies.

Olivia shares that vision, and we are excited to see the relationships she builds and the impact she will have on the mothers and babies we have the privilege of serving.

Please join us in welcoming Olivia to the St. Benedict’s and St. Gerard’s family! ❤️

This post may be a little late, but the gratitude certainly isn’t.

After 9 years of dedicated service, we recently said goodbye to Jessica Monroy as she begins an exciting new chapter in her career.

Jessica has worn many hats during her time with St. Benedict’s and St. Gerard’s. She was instrumental in helping start our White Flag program, serving as its coordinator and helping provide a safe place for people experiencing homelessness during the coldest nights of the year. She later continued serving as an as-needed monitor at St. Benedict’s Men’s Shelter, always willing to step in where she was needed.

For the past five years, Jessica has served as Program Director of St. Gerard’s Maternal Home, walking alongside expectant mothers experiencing crisis and helping make the home a place of safety, stability, encouragement, and hope.

During those same years, Jessica continued investing in herself and her future. She earned her Master’s in Social Work and recently received her state license to practice therapy. Now, after nearly a decade of serving some of the most vulnerable members of our community with us, she is beginning the next chapter of her calling as a therapist.

While we are sad to lose someone who has been such an important part of our organization for so many years, we couldn’t be more proud of her.

Jessica, thank you for nine years of service, sacrifice, growth, compassion, and commitment. You have left your mark on St. Benedict’s, St. Gerard’s, and most importantly on countless lives along the way.

Please join us in thanking Jessica for her years of service and congratulating her as she begins this exciting new chapter! ❤️

💙 Celebrating 9 Years of Service & a New Beginning 💙

It is with both sadness and tremendous pride that we announce that Jessica Monroy will be leaving St. Benedict’s Shelter and St. Gerard’s Maternal Home, with her last day being August 31.

Jessica has faithfully served our organization for nine years, including the past four years as Program Director. Her journey with St. Benedict’s began working in our White Flag Program, and through hard work, compassion, and dedication to those we serve, she worked her way into leadership.

Over the years, Jessica has walked alongside countless individuals and families during some of the most difficult seasons of their lives. Her impact on our residents, staff, programs, and organization will remain long after her final day.

While we are saddened to lose such an important member of our team, we could not be more proud of what comes next.

Jessica recently graduated with her Master of Social Work and has now passed her state therapist exam! She will be beginning the next chapter of her career providing therapy services with Thrive Counseling.

Watching someone grow is one of the greatest privileges we have, whether that is a resident, a staff member, or a leader. Jessica came to St. Benedict’s nine years ago to serve others, continued investing in herself and her education, grew into a leader, and is now stepping into a new opportunity to continue helping people in a different way.

Jessica, thank you for nine years of service, sacrifice, compassion, and commitment. We are incredibly proud of you, and we are excited to see where this next chapter takes you.

Please help us thank Jessica for her years of service, wish her farewell, and celebrate this incredible accomplishment and new endeavor! 💙🎉
