The Owensboro Police Department is currently working a non-injury traffic accident in the area of Southtown Blvd and Goetz Dr.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible and use an alternate route. Expect traffic delays and congestion while officers and wrecker services work the scene.

Please slow down, use caution, and follow the directions of officers on scene.

✈️ Owensboro Air Show is almost here!

A reminder that the Blue Bridge, Ohio River, and English Park Boat Ramp will have temporary closures throughout the weekend.

🚗 Plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and follow the direction of public safety officials.

The Glover Cary Bridge (Blue Bridge) and Ohio River will be closed at various times through September 11-13 for the Owensboro Air Show.

The Blue Bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic during the following times:

Friday, September 11: 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Saturday, September 12: 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Sunday, September 13: 12:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m.

The annual Bridge Walk will take place Saturday morning from 7:30 a.m.-noon, giving the public an opportunity to walk across the Blue Bridge before the start of the Air Show.

The Ohio River and English Park Boat Ramp will be closed during the following times:

Friday, September 11: 9:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Saturday, September 12: Noon-5:00 p.m.
Sunday, September 13: Noon-5:00 p.m.

Boaters are asked to stay outside the restricted area during these times and follow all instructions from public safety officials on the water. You can find the map by clicking the link in the comments.

The Owensboro Air Show takes place September 11-13, with Friday Night Flight at the Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport on Friday and the free riverfront Air Show on Saturday and Sunday.

The Owensboro Police Department Accident Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating an injury collision at the intersection of W. Parrish Avenue and Carter Road.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area and seek an alternate route while first responders investigate the collision.

Please use caution and expect traffic delays in the area. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.
