This mornings Coffee With A Cop!

It’s not every day that we have the opportunity to get the entire Overton Police Department staff together in one photo. This morning, every member of our team showed up for Coffee With A Cop without being asked or expected to do so.

That says a lot about the people who wear the badge at OPD.

Their willingness to show up, engage with our community, and represent this department is a reflection of the dedication and commitment they bring to this profession every single day. More importantly, it demonstrates that they genuinely care about the City of Overton and the citizens we have sworn to serve and protect.

As Chief, I could not be more proud of this team. Leadership is not just about what we do when the uniform is on—it’s about our willingness to be present, build relationships, and serve our community in every opportunity we are given.

I am honored to lead and work alongside each of these men and women. They represent OPD, this City, and the badge with the professionalism, dedication, and pride that our community deserves.

We’ve been made aware that someone identifying himself as “Sgt. Brandon White with the Overton Police Department” is calling people claiming they have an “urgent civil matter” and mentioning Judge David Hill.

There are a few problems with that story…

👉 We do not have a Sgt. Brandon White.

👉 While there is a District Judge David Hill in our county, scammers often use the names of real local officials to make their story sound legitimate.

👉 The phone number being provided by the caller is NOT the Overton Police Department’s phone number. Our correct number is 903-834-3145.

⚠️ This is a SCAM!

Please do NOT provide this caller with money, banking information, Social Security numbers, or any other personal information.

If you receive one of these calls, hang up and call us directly at 903-834-3145 to verify any claim.

🐾 RESCUE OR ADOPTIVE HOMES NEEDED — OVERTON, TEXAS 🐾

We are seeking reputable rescue organizations and responsible adopters for several dogs currently needing placement. Municipal resources are limited, so finding safe, appropriate homes is time-sensitive.

Each dog will be posted individually with the information currently available. Some medical, vaccination, and behavioral history may be unknown. All ages are rough estimates. We will be honest about everything we know so rescues and adopters can make informed decisions.

If you are affiliated with a rescue or are prepared to provide a safe, permanent home, please email [email protected] including:

• The dog’s name or photo
• Your name and contact information
• The rescue organization you represent, if applicable
• Your location
• Whether you need transportation assistance

🐾 FOUND DOG 🐾

This handsome boy was found and we’re trying to get him back home!

He IS microchipped, but unfortunately the chip was never registered, so we haven’t been able to locate his owner.

If you believe he belongs to you or you know who he belongs to, please contact us. Proof of ownership will be required.
