College Republicans of Johnson County Community College

College Republicans of Johnson County Community College Five Years of Excellence
February 12, 2008 - February 12, 2013 Since August 2009, the club has been unactive, mainly due to the lack of leadership.

The JCCC College Republicans was established on February 12, 2008 by Facutly Sponsor Jerry Magliano and Student Alex Abramovitz. The club held its first meeting on September 13, 2008, just months before the 2008 Presidential Election. The club's first officers included:
President: Alex Abramovitz
Vice President: Nathan Henry
Vice President: Daniel Austin
Secretary: Irene Gaughn
Treasurer: Vicki Ga

Faculty Sponsor: Jerry Maglinao

During the 2008-2009 school year the JCCC College Republicans participated and sponsored a variety of events, including one Presidential Debate Watch in August 2008 (co-hosted with the JCCC College Democrats), the Constitution Day Trivial Challange (versus the College Democrats), Kansas Days 2009, and they hosted and co-sponsored America's second largest Tea Party on August 15, 2009 at JCCC, along with Fair Tax Kansas City, Tea Party Patriots, and Political Chips. The club's founder and first President, Alex Abramovitz, left the College Republicans to be the first volunteer DJ for JCCC's newly established eCAV Radio, in August 2009, to host The Alex Abramovitz Program: The Revolution, a conservative-libertarian talk show, with former member Eric Mertz. The show hosted Congressional Candidates John Rysvavy and Daniel Gilyeat, JCCC County Commissioner Candidate Jason Osterhaus, Senatorial Candidate Todd Tiahrt, and other outstanding members of the local political community. In August 2012, Founder and President-Emeritus, Alex Abramovitz came, once again, to lead the College Republicans during the heated 2012 election season. Through his leadership, the College Republicans re-established their presence on campus hosting the college's only Presidential Debate Watch Party, on October 3, 2012. The next month, the College Republicans made an appearance at the JCRP Election Watch Party as volunteers for Greg Smith, Mary Pilcher-Cook, and Brett Hildabrand. Currently, the College Republicans are focusing on the future, making an impact on Campus, and promoting the JCCC Democracy Project.

2012-2013 Officers:

On behalf of myself, it is privilege and honor to formally endorse Ted for President of the United States.

Never, in my life, there ever been such a true conservative, who livlives and dies by the Constitution the way this man does. I encourage each of you to caucus for Ted this Saturday.

May the blessings of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ be with all of America.

Best Regards,
Alex Abramovitz
Founder and President Emeritus

"July 4, 1776, perhaps the single-most important and significant event in the history of the world, second only to the birth of Christ Jesus; a day in which a group of rebellious and courageous men sacrificed their “lives, fortunes, and sacred honor” in order to bring life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, our inalienable God-given rights, to the struggling and suffering American populace. On this day our founders established a new rite to bring democracy, republicanism, freedom, and peace to the world." ~ Alex Abramovitz (Founder and President Emeritus of The College Republicans of Johnson County Community College)

So according to White House Press Secretary, Jay Carney, the President is a strong supporter of the 1st Amendment. If this is true, then why has the President seized records of the AP and initiated a cover-up? Why has the IRS been used as a police force against conservative political activists (aka: The Tea Party)? Why has the President oppressed religious freedom putting Islam above all other religions in a country that was founded upon the principals of religious freedom? And, tell me why has the President tried to abuse his powers to control the freedom of speech, particularly on the internet and over the phone? AMERICA IS WAITING FOR A SUFFICIENT ANSWER MR. PRESIDENT!

Despite what many may say about President Obama, I disagree with the fact that he is a lame-duck President; nay, rather he is a lame-duck President that quacks! ~ Alex Abramovitz
