Residents gathered this afternoon for a special Shabbat Happy Hour led by Rabbi Rachel Rothstein of Congregation B'nai Jehudah. Through blessings, conversation, and time together, we welcomed Shabbat in a meaningful way.

We are delighted to be a recipient of a grant from J-LEAD to support the new Sensory Room in our Weissman Memory Support neighborhood!

This dedicated space will provide residents living with dementia a calming, engaging environment designed to stimulate the senses, reduce anxiety, encourage meaningful connection, and enhance overall well-being. Through specialized lighting, tactile experiences, soothing sounds, and interactive sensory tools, residents can enjoy moments of comfort, engagement, and joy.

We are grateful to J-LEAD for investing in innovative programs that help enrich the lives of those we serve every day. ❤️

For 20 years, members of J-LEAD, our young adult giving circle, have come together to learn about and support community needs. Today we welcomed students from Cranes of Care, who spent the afternoon visiting with residents and sharing handmade origami cranes—each paired with a message of hope and kindness.

These thoughtful gestures may seem small, but they sparked smiles, conversations, and meaningful connections throughout our community.

☀️ This week, we were delighted to welcome campers from the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City to Village Shalom!

Today’s visit was filled with creativity, connection, and plenty of fun. Some campers helped create colorful signs for our upcoming Father’s Day Run, while others visited Memory Support, where they practiced the interactive games on the Tovertafel before teaming up with residents for a morning of friendly competition.
