Our PTA organizes opportunities for our students to volunteer together in our community! We call these service projects "Giving Tree." Check out this upcoming Giving Tree opportunity!

Please join us by volunteering to help with UPP at the Cider Hill Family Orchard (3341 139th St., Kansas City, KS 66109). It will be on September 18th from 9-11am. We will be picking up fallen apples that will be delivered to people in need within 24 hours.

Students must provide their own transportation. Volunteer Hours will count toward the IW Volunteer Service Award. If you have any questions or comments, please contact Audrey Hatler (913) 568-4473 & Helen Stutterheim (816) 550-5880.

Kidfest is an annual tradition that provides free fun activities for kids and families before the SMS Homecoming game on 9/25. Woods needs some friendly faces to help make the event possible! This is a roundtable format and an opportunity to visit with Principal Dreiling about what is happening at the Woods. Please check in at the front office. Reminder! We'd love to see everyone at our first meeting of the year next Tuesday, 8/25, at 9am in the Woods library. Meetings are for everyone! You do not have to be a paid member to attend. PTA meetings are a great time to hear from Principal Dreiling about what's happening in the building, learn tidbits about your kid's day that they might not be sharing at home, and get to know other Woods families. See you there!

🗓️Mark your calendars!🗓️ We’d love to see everyone at our PTA meetings this school year. You do not have to be a member to attend. Meetings are a great time to hear from administration about what’s happening in our building as well as fun ways our PTA supports students and staff throughout the year. Meetings are typically held in the library. We’ll post on our socials if there’s ever a location change. We can’t wait to see you! 🩶💙

Picture Day at Woods is scheduled for Thursday, August 13! The school needs some volunteers to assist teachers and students as they are getting their pictures taken. We are asking for two volunteers to help with each shift. This just involves directing kids in the line and keeping things moving! Shifts are only an hour if you can help for one or multiple.
