Wildfire mitigation starts at home. 🏠

Keep your yard clear of dry debris, clean leaves and pine needles from gutters, trim back trees and brush, and maintain a clean 5-foot zone around your home free of flammable materials.

These small steps can help slow the spread of fire, protect firefighters, safeguard your neighbors, and strengthen the safety of the entire community. Prevention starts with all of us.

You can also sign up for emergency alerts, by texting “ourayalerts” to 65513.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Love Your Trail Day! We couldn't have done it without you. ❤️

With the help of 24 incredible volunteers, we dug 49 holes, leveled and set fence posts, pulled weeds, and installed 9 new trail signs that will help visitors better connect with the history, culture, and landscape of the area.

This project would not have been possible without the support of so many community partners. Thank you to the Uncompahgre Watershed Partnership, Colorado West Land Trust, Ouray Trail Group, Ute Indian Museum, Ouray County Historical Society, Ouray Beautification Committee, Alpine Bank, and the Ouray County Community Fund for providing funding, expertise, and/or volunteer power.

And a special thank you to team lead Sean Hart and Julia Jacobson of Colorado West Land Trust for organizing the day.

Congratulations to our June Yard of the Month winners, Gregg, Jannette, and Colton Cawlfield!

Since moving to their new property about three years ago, they've transformed their garden, planting more than 80 rose bushes, re-doing all the flower beds and protecting them with deer netting. They even added an ore cart flower bed inspired by the ones that brighten Main Street each summer!

Know a neighbor who deserves recognition for their beautiful yard? Nominations are open for July's Yard of the Month! The winner will receive a $100 gift card to a local business.
Submit your nomination by June 15: https://forms.gle/W9Vis7puRsXKrvAq6
