Activity ~ 32-80 (67 today) The hot springs of Ouray have been enjoyed since at least the 14th century when native Ute Indians used the naturally hot clear water for healing. Settlers came to the area in the late 1800's in search of gold and precious minerals, and many found comfort in the natura

l hot springs. The original swimming pool was constructed in the 1920's and has been a favorite destination ever since. At the source some of this water is 150 degrees! The pool consists of several sections maintained at different temperatures for different tastes. The hot sections can be as hot as 106 degrees, and a soaking section, perfect for families and prolonged soaking, is typically 95 degrees, or so. The lap lanes and deep section are usually about 80 degrees in the summer and fall, and cooler than that in the winter months when there is snow on the ground. The Ouray Hot Springs Swimming Pool is an outdoor pool open all year. Many people enjoy the pool the most in the winter after a day spent ice climbing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, skating on the local ice rink (skates are available to rent at the Hot Springs Pool), or simply as a place to relax and enjoy the splendid scenery of the San Juan Mountains.

June 12 is your last chance to register for June 15-25 swim lessons at the Ouray Hot Springs Pool!

From first splashes to advanced swim skills, our summer swim lesson program is a fun and supportive way for kids to build confidence in the water. Two-week sessions run through the summer from June 1 through Aug. 6.

DETAILS:
✔️ Classes meet Monday–Thursday for 30 minutes each day
✔️ 8 classes per session
✔️ $45 per session (that’s less than $6 per class!)
✔️ Pool entry during class period included

CLASS OPTIONS:
👶 Parent Tots: (Under 3 with an adult)
🌊 Level 1: Beginner Skills (Ages 3+)
🏅 Level 2: Intermediate Skills (All Ages)
🐬 Level 3: Advanced Skills (All Ages)

Meet Zach, our Swim Safety Coordinator at the Ouray Hot Springs Pool!

Zach oversees our lifeguard program, helping ensure our team is trained, prepared, and ready to keep guests safe while they enjoy the pools. He just checked off 5 new lifeguards who passed their lifeguard training!

A few fun facts about Zach:
🏊 Favorite thing about working at the pool: "Getting to be part of creating great experiences for our guests every day."
🏔️ When he's not at the Hot Springs, you can find him hiking with his wife and two dogs.
⭐ A hidden talent: He's an ant enthusiast! "I have an ant colony at home that I started from a single queen ant."

Summer starts TODAY at the Ouray Hot Springs Pool! ☀️💦

The shallow pool, waterslides, and activity pool officially OPEN for the season starting Friday, May 22, just in time for summer fun in Ouray. Also, the pool now has extended hours and closes at 10 pm!

Bring the family, soak up the sunshine, and make a splash all season long!
