I don't think we could have asked for a better way to celebrate Rural Transit Day!!!

Yesterday we had a visit from our friends at Illinois Valley Center for Independent Living (IVCIL) and they presented NCAT with a $500 donation from their July 11th Bubbles for Buses fundraiser.

Our state and federal transit grants require a 'local match' to unlock them, meaning community donations are multiplied to bring even more funding to our area. Your support directly helps us keep our wheels turning, expand our services, and keep LaSalle County connected!

Thank you to IVCIL and everyone who supported them (and us)!

Today, we celebrate the vital role rural public transportation plays in strengthening our communities and the people behind North Central Area Transit (NCAT).

For many residents throughout LaSalle County, NCAT is more than transportation—it's a connection to employment, healthcare, education, shopping, family, and independence. Rural public transit helps people remain active, engaged, and connected while supporting local businesses, healthcare providers, schools, and our regional economy.

None of this would be possible without our dedicated team. To our drivers, dispatchers, mechanics, administrative staff, community partners, and everyone working behind the scenes—thank you for your professionalism, compassion, and commitment to serving our community each and every day.

Every trip we provide helps someone reach an important destination. Every mile we drive helps strengthen our community.

On this Rural Transit Day, we also thank our riders, community partners, and supporters for recognizing that investing in rural public transportation is an investment in people. Together, we're helping ensure that where someone lives doesn't determine their ability to access opportunity.
