What a wonderful day! We felt so much love from our community today, and we can’t thank you enough!

Our very first Resident Craft Fair was a huge success! We get to see how talented our folks are every day, but getting to share that with all of you made today extra special.

From birdhouses and greeting cards to pencil holders, coasters, ornaments, some pretty cool rocks, and so much more, our residents had lots to show off!

Thank you for showing up, supporting our residents, and making today such a success. We appreciate you more than you know!

And yes, we’re already planning our next one! ❤️

We just love this time of year! Each classroom participates in a scarecrow contest. Look at these beautiful entries this year!

One classroom named their scarecrow after our founder, Jane.
Mickey Mouse, SpongeBob 🧽 (science experiment), Bob, Cookie Monster, and the classic Wizard of Oz Scarecrow were the other creations this year.

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, a time to celebrate the talents, contributions, and achievements of individuals with disabilities in the workplace!

Today, we're proud to recognize Cory, a participant in Goodwill's Supported Employment Program who has been a valued member of our Ottawa store team for nearly 13 years! From wet mopping floors to helping maintain a clean and welcoming store, Cory's hard work and dedication make a difference every day.
Thank you, Cory, for showing us the power of opportunity, inclusion, and meaningful employment! 💚

Just a tiny sneak peek of what you’ll find at our Craft Fair Friday, October 23!

The fair starts at 11, and our residents are beyond excited to share their talents with you! Every dollar they make goes directly into their pockets, so please come out and support them!

And for all you sweet treat lovers, our staff Emily will be there by popular demand! 🍪 You know her goodies from our Concert for a Cause bake sale, so you already know you don’t want to miss out on those!

Being “the boss” isn’t always easy, and lately, it’s felt really heavy. But when I’m surrounded by our amazing group of residents, I’m reminded why I started at Friendship and why I’ve stayed. At the end of the day, it’s always been about them. ♥️

I’m so thankful for our residents and all of our staff. Even on the hard days, there’s so much good in what we do. Thank you all for making me feel so loved today. It means more than you know! 🫶
