And this is why NO one should ever dump any dogs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Another puppy was found on Rd 12-Q this morning huddled around a telephone pole in the same area as the one that was found Wednesaday morning. I would imagine that this puppy was dumped earlier this week and had to really fend for itself for several days until it was found this morning. Is there any more puppies dumped on Rd 12-Q? Who knows!? There are corn fields on Rd 12-Q and it is very possible that a puppy could have wondered into the field only to get lost! This one is a female, also flea infested as well as skinny and only weighs about 8 lbs! I do not understand how people can be so heartless! This one will also be available for adoption on Monday after going to the vet office to get checked out.

This is Mowgli. Apparently someone thought it would be a great idea to dump a 2 month puppy out and hope that it can fend for itself. It is never a good idea to just dump a puppy or any dog! I really do not know how anyone can dump a dog like a piece of trash! This puppy is now up to date on vaccines and has been treated for the flea that he had. Mowgli is possibly a Aussie Shepherd Mix type puppy. Mowgli will need some training since he is only about 2 months old.

If interested in checking out Mowgli, you can message the shelter, call (419) 523-8617 to setup an appointment or stop by the shelter on Thursdays from Noon - 1 pm and Saturdays from 9 am - 10 am. Adoption fee is only $70 which includes dog license.

The Putnam County Dog Shelter's phone has not been working for a few days as well as the Putnam County Sheriff's Office (and numerous others). If you need to get in contact with the Dog Shelter or Dog Warden, please Facebook Message the shelter and someone will get back in touch with you as soon as possible.

We are unsure how long the phone number will be out of service.

Cyrus is still looking for a new home! While Dumbo has found a new home, Cyrus is really hoping to find his as well! He is around 2 years old and is possibly a Basset Hound/Pit/Boston Terrier mix type dog. Not sure how he is with other dogs but is friendly and seems to like attention. Cyrus has been an outside dog.

If interested in checking Cyrus out, you can stop by the shelter on Thursdays from Noon to 1 pm and Saturdays from 9 am - 10 am or you can message the shelter. There is no adoption fee for Cyrus except for $16 for dog license and any donation would be greatly appreciated.

Meet Cyrus and Dumbo. These two male pups are looking for new homes. Both are apparently Basset Hound/Boston Terrier/Pit mix type dogs. Cyrus (with one ear down) is around 2 years old while Dumbo is around 1 year old. Both of these fellas have been outside dogs that did not get the love and attention that they so much deserve. Cyrus and Dumbo are a little timid at first but did warm up to want some attention and they are playful. Unsure how they are with other dogs and I would recommend that they be split up unless someone wants to adopt them both.

There is no adoption fee for either Cyrus or Dumbo but there is a $16 dog license fee and if the adopter would like to make a donation. If interested in either one of these dogs, you can stop by the shelter on Saturdays from 9 am - 10 am or Thursdays from Noon to 1 pm. You can also message the shelter or call (419) 523-8617 to setup an appointment.

These two dogs are still looking for a new home!

These two pups are looking for new homes. Izzy and Ozzy are about 8 months old and apparently are Chihuahua/Poodle/Min Pin mixes. Ozzy has longer hair while Izzy is short hair. They have been good around a toddler that is in house but not sure about other dogs. If interested in checking either dog out, you can message the shelter or comment on the post.
