Ottawa Lake-Whiteford Fire Department Station 2

Ottawa Lake-Whiteford Fire Department Station 2 All-Volunteer Fire Deparment covering the eastern half of Whiteford Township, Michigan. Whiteford Township is located just north of Sylvania Ohio in Michigan.

The townships approx. 40 sq. miles is covered by two volunteer operated fire departments that provide 24/7 EMS, fire suppression, and rescue services to it approx. 5000 residents. We also maintain mutual aid agreements with the neighboring municipalities to assist them and to provide greater assistance to our residents. The fire departments are comprised of non-compensated volunteer officers and f

irefighters that train every Monday night from 7:00PM to 9:00PM to prepare for any situation that may occur. Our township provides many tactical challenges such as an airport, the states largest stone quarry, U.S. 23; a major expressway, asphalt production facility, grain silos, firework outlet stores, various manufacturing facilities, and truck stops to name a few. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our brother William Beck. Brad began his fire career in 1995. Brad spent more than 30 years serving the Ottawa Lake community. 10 of those years as Fire Chief. Rest easy Billy you will be greatly missed.

GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family after the tragic accident last night on US-23

Tragically, on May 17th, 2025 Kaitlyn Ann Ellison was struck by a drunk driver. Sadly, she lost her life, as well as her unborn daughter. She was a single-mother with 3 young children, returning home from work.

Donations will be used for the cremation and any funding possible to help cover the expenses involved to help raise her 3 children who have tragically lost their mother.
