At this morning's retreat, the Board of Education voted to appoint Tyler Carmony to fill the vacancy left by Katie Timmers' departure. Mr. Carmony's term will run through Dec. 31, 2027.

Mr. Carmony is a Certified Financial Planner and managing partner, current Board Member of the Maumee Valley Country Day School Foundation, and a graduate of the University of Toledo.

A Village resident since 2019, he and his wife, Christina, an Ottawa Hills native, have four young daughters, including a rising 1st-grader and rising kindergartener at Ottawa Hills Elementary School. He has been active as a volunteer in youth athletics and with the Ottawa Hills Schools Parent Association.

Synopsis: Chris and Ken Gorman arrive at a fancy dinner party for their friend, Charley Brock. They discover that all is not well, and that Charley has had an accident involving a shotgun and his earlobe. This could be damaging to Charley’s reputation, as he is deputy mayor of New York City. Chris and Ken’s friends begin to arrive. As they attempt to cover up the facts, hilarity ensues. Neil Simon’s Rumors is a charming farce with lots of gags, twists, zingers, and zanies, but it also borrows from Simon’s life experience to depict the challenges, as well as the comforts, of married life.

What a first-class week for our educators! Thank you to OHSPA for going above and beyond during Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week with daily treats that made our staff feel truly valued. From Monday's ‘getting ready for takeoff’ coffees to Tuesday's in-flight entertainment, Wednesday's first-class meal service, Thursday's snack cart deliveries, and Friday's destination tropical smoothies, every day brought something special.
A special thank you also goes to our Jr./Sr. High School Student Council for partnering with OHSPA to coordinate appreciation week efforts. To all our educators and staff: thank you for everything you do for our Green Bears every single day.

Ottawa Hills Local Schools is seeking qualified candidates for the position of School Nurse. After 13 years of dedication to our district and students, Nurse Laura Baird will be retiring at the end of this school year. We are deeply grateful for the kindness and care she has given to everyone she has encountered. We wish her all the best in her next chapter and a very happy retirement.

Board of Education Seeks New Member
The Ottawa Hills Board of Education is accepting applications to fill a vacancy created by a member's resignation effective May 21. Applicants must be Ottawa Hills residents, registered voters, at least 18 years of age, and meet all legal requirements under Ohio Revised Code. Letters of interest due by noon on May 1, 2026, to [email protected]
The board will vote on the appointment at its June 4, 2026, retreat. The appointed member will serve through Dec. 31, 2027.
