Michelle Lund Otsego City Council Elect

Michelle Lund Otsego City Council Elect I am running for city council to positively support our community. We are very proud of our 5 children that range in ages from 19 to 30.

As a balanced individual, I aim to represent our diverse voices and guide us through the changes ahead. My life partner Brandon Johnston choose Otsego for the beautiful setting and the charm of this community. Our kids are successfully adulting by working their jobs that range from working at a bagel shop, training in the Navy, Asset management, Relator, HVAC apprentice, Daycare Para and some are

attending school part-time. We are grateful to have found a beautiful home that backs up to the Otsego County Park and moved here in September of 2023. We live here with our two dogs and my 21 year old son part-time. Since moving here, we joined the Otsego River Riders snowmobile club, and I joined Prairie Park planning committee. We love the outdoors and enjoy getting involved on our community. I have chosen to run for city council to actively contribute to the positive development of our community. As a balanced and dedicated individual, I am committed to representing the diverse voices within our community and guiding us through the various changes and growth we will experience. My goal is to ensure that every resident feels heard and supported as we navigate the future together. With over 30 years of experience in the commercial construction industry, I have successfully created and managed numerous project budgets across various communities throughout the Twin Cities. My extensive background has equipped me with the skills and insights necessary to guide and support the decisions our growing city will face in the years to come. I am committed to leveraging my expertise to foster sustainable development, enhance community infrastructure, and ensure fiscal responsibility. Together, we can build a brighter future for our city.

I’m not sure how many people are aware of the debate on I94 being changed from a freeway to a roadway system with stoplights from the Capital in St. Paul to the UofM campus in Minneapolis. This freeway system was approved for construction in 1956 and was constructed in MN in the 1960s. Currently there’s a movement of residents along this corridor that feel that this road has damaged the vitality of these community areas and somehow still haven’t recovered after roughly 60 years of adaptation time. Currently there are 10 options that are being considered and only 3 of options allow for the existing I94 roadway to remain as freeway version.

I’m asking that people voice your opinion on the options and how the potential changes could affect their personal life, work life, business impact and other concerns. See the link to voice your thoughts.

Thanks!!
