The food pantry was organized by members of the Otego Baptist Church(now called the Unatego Community Church) many years ago. Brian Cutting and his wife Becci, along with Lisa Pearce and Colleen Hammond kept the pantry operational until 2012. In 2012, Elsie and Bill Howland, along with Dottie Lent, took over. They set regular Saturday hours for the food pantry to be open and welcomed the involvement of the 4 other faith communities. The Pantry then became known as the Otego Community Food Pantry and added Thursday afternoon hours for more convenience to the families. The number of families assisted continues to grow weekly.

We would like to extend a big thank you to the Higgins family for setting up this wonderful vegetable stand! The vegetable stand will be present every Saturday at our regular 290 Main St. location for the rest of September during normal pantry hours (11 AM-1 PM). The stand is open to any current families that receive assistance through the OCFP.

Did you know that along with monetary and nonperishable good donations, you can also donate your extra produce to help community members in need? If you are a farmer, gardener, or anyone else who grows fresh fruits or vegetables that you would like to contribute, feel free to contact us for more information.

(If you grow food items that are currently out of season, we can also provide useful information for next year!)

Hello everyone! It’s been a while since we’ve communicated to you all on Facebook, so here is a scan of our brochure containing important information updates and reminders about our pantry. We plan to provide other involvement opportunities, spotlight the positive impacts of our collective work, and share fun ideas and challenges (like cost-efficient recipes) going forward! Some key points from our brochure are also included below.

- Anyone in need of assistance in the Otego portion of the Unatego school district, or those interested in volunteering can contact us by calling 607-353-0388.

- Our weekly hours of operation are Thursdays from 3:15 PM to 5:15 PM, and Saturdays from 11 AM to 1 PM.

- Our pantry is located at 290 Main St. in Otego at the Unatego Community Church, with the labeled entrance on the right side of the church building.
