What better day to register for our September Book Discussion? This month we'll be reading "How to Read a Book" by Monica Wood, a heartfelt, character-driven, and uplifting novel about a chance encounter at a bookstore.

As always, the discussion will be led by Dr. Kimberly Rich, Relationship Educator.

"Invest in Your Brain" — New LLI Class Starting Sept. 25

Join Waubonsee Community College's Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) for this new class facilitated by Dawn Orzech and Carolyn Hopkins!

Multiple studies show that healthy lifestyle habits can improve brain health and significantly reduce your chance of developing dementia. Using information from the Alzheimer's Association and "The Alzheimer's Solution" book and podcast, we'll learn more about the brain and simple, specific actions we can take to invest in our brain health.

We had a full house here at the center for our Virtual Dementia Tour.
This powerful experience gives caregivers and family members the opportunity to step into the world of someone living with dementia. Participants experience some of the challenges, confusion and frustrations that can come with dementia, helping them develop a deeper sense of empathy and understanding.
By gaining a better understanding of what their loved ones may be experiencing, caregivers can learn new ways to provide patience, compassion and better care.
