Early Voting for the upcoming Presidential Primary Election will take place between Saturday, March 23, 2024, and Saturday, March 30, 2024. There will be no Early Voting on Sunday, March 31, 2024. For the Presidential Primary, Early Voting poll sites will now be open for at least 9 hours on each of the 8 days.

Voter Registration Deadline This Friday, October 8th

ALBANY, N.Y. (10/6/2021) – The State Board of Elections today reminds all state residents to register to vote for the November 2nd, 2021 general election, the deadline is this Friday, October 8th.

There are three ways to register:
in person at your local county board of elections and most state agency offices by close of business Friday, October 8th;
by mail with the voter registration form postmarked by midnight Friday, October 8th; or
online if you have a Department of Motors Vehicles-issued identification by midnight Friday, October 8th.

Mail-in voter registration forms must be postmarked by midnight on Friday, October 8th and received by a board of elections no later than October 13th to be valid for the upcoming general election.

You can check the State Board of Elections' website (www.elections.ny.gov) or contact your local board of elections for more information on what contests will be on your ballot, including 5 statewide constitutional amendments.

A NYS voter registration form can be found at most US Post Offices, your local public library or downloaded from our website: www.elections.ny.gov. Alternatively, if you have a NYS Department of Motor Vehicles-issued identification you may register online at their MyDMV site. You can also register or find forms at most state and federal government offices.

Persons who are unsure whether they are registered, wish to verify their current address, or find out where to vote, may look-up this information at the State Board of Elections’ website: www.elections.ny.gov.

New Yorkers wanting to register in-person may do so at their county boards of elections and at many state agency offices throughout the state, but must do so no later than close of business Friday, October 8th, to be eligible to vote in the general election.

Voter Registration Deadline Nears for 2021 Primary Election

ALBANY, NY (05/25/2021) - The State Board of Elections today reminds all state residents that the deadline to register to vote for the June 22, 2021, Primary election is Friday, May 28, 2021. Mail-in voter registration forms must be postmarked by midnight, May 28th and received by a board of elections no later than June 2, 2021 to be valid for the upcoming Primary election. There are many significant local primaries in communities around the state.

New Yorkers wanting to register in-person may do so at their local county boards of elections office but must do so no later than close-of-business Friday, May 28, 2021. Applicants can also register at the Department of Motor Vehicles website (MyDMV) no later than May 28, 2021, as long as they have a NYS Driver’s License, non-driver ID Card or Learner’s Permit.

The voter registration form can be downloaded from the State Board’s website: www.elections.ny.gov. One can also register or find forms at most state and federal government offices including the local public library and US Post Office.

Sixteen and 17-year-olds can pre-register now, they will be eligible to vote in any election on or after their 18th birthday.

Persons who are unsure whether they are registered, wish to verify their current address or party enrollment, find out where to vote or how to get an absentee ballot, may look-up that information at the State Board’s website: www.elections.ny.gov.
