🚂🎨 We’re honored to have the Ostrander Train Mural added to the America 250 “Murals Across Ohio” trail! 🇺🇸
Ostrander began because of the railroad. Before the village existed, the area was mostly farmland and open countryside in western Delaware County. In the early 1850s, plans were being made to build the Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati & Indianapolis Railroad (CCC&I) through this part of Ohio. When railroad leaders selected this location for a train stop and depot, a new community quickly formed around it.
The mural celebrates those humble beginnings and the history that helped shape Ostrander into the village we know and love today. ❤️
Being included alongside murals from communities across Ohio is a special honor as our state celebrates America’s 250th anniversary. If you’re exploring the trail, be sure to stop in Ostrander and experience a piece of the history that helped put our village on the map. 🚂🗺️
