IMPORTANT TRASH NOTICE: NO RESIDENTIAL SERVICE THIS WEEK DUE TO WEATHER

Weather Route Delay Area: For the safety of our employees and communities we service LRS-( Lakeshore Recycle Services), your waste and recycle provider, has canceled routes for Tuesday, January 16, 2024, due to continued dangerous temperatures and many side streets remaining partly to mostly snow and ice covered. With the snow received this weekend and dangerously low temperatures, the combination can affect vehicle operations and hazards to employees and the community. We will tentatively resume routes on Wednesday January 17th running on normal schedule with servicing Wednesday routes. Monday and Tuesday will not be serviced this week due inclement weather, we will take any additional residential bags next Monday and Tuesday on normal schedule. Please set your trash out on your normal scheduled service day where accessible and not blocked by snow or other objects. We appreciate your patience and understanding of our commitment to the safety of our employees and communities we service

TRASH SERVICE THIS WEEK:

Weather Route Delay Topeka Kansas Area: For the safety of our employees and communities we service LRS-( Lakeshore Recycle Services), your waste and recycle provider, has canceled routes for Monday January 15, 2024, due to extremely dangerous temperatures and potential snow. With temperatures predicted to be in the negatives it can affect vehicle operations and hazards to employees that are exposed to the elements. At this time, we will resume routes on Tuesday January 16th servicing routes one day later than normal. We ask that you please set your trash out on your normal scheduled service day as we will attempt to catch up as time allows and could possibly service some areas on your normal scheduled service day. We appreciate your patience and understanding of our commitment to the safety of our employees and communities we service.

The deadline for the City's Holiday Christmas Lighting contest is fast approaching. Judging will take place on Sunday, December 17th. Prizes are as follows:
$100 1st place
$75 2nd place
$50 3rd place
$25 Honorable Mention (3)
Winners will be announced at the City Council meeting on December 20th.

If you have not yet created an account or downloaded the EyeOnWater app we highly recommend it - it's very helpful! The new remote read system allows residents to view water usage online or via Smartphone app. By creating an account you will also have access to email or SMS text alerts to potential leaks. Included are instructions on how to create an account and begin viewing your usage.
