Edmundson Playground Project

Edmundson Playground is a special place for our community’s children and families to gather, play, and make memories. Unfortunately, we have recently experienced vandalism to the playground equipment.

We want to remind everyone that damage to public property impacts the entire community — especially the kids who use and enjoy the park every day. Repairs take time and taxpayer dollars that could otherwise be used to improve our parks and amenities.

Please help us keep Edmundson Playground a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable place for all by respecting the equipment and encouraging others to do the same.

We also want to remind the public that the park area is monitored by cameras, and acts of vandalism may be reported to law enforcement.

Let’s work together to take pride in our community and protect the spaces that make it special. ❤️

Just a friendly reminder....

Hey Osky!

We have had several recent reports of pet owners letting their dogs run in and around the new playground in Edmundson Park. This is not allowed!

1. The new safety surface is not designed for paws/claws.

2. All dogs must be kept on a leash within the park at all times unless they are contained within the Oskaloosa Bark Park. There are no exceptions to this.

We have had far too many dog-biting incidents already this year due to animals not being adequately controlled by owners. Please help keep our children (and your animals) safe by keeping pets off of the playground surface and keeping them leashed at all times within the park.

Happy Monday! GREAT news, the Edmundson Playground Project is open IMMEDIATELY! Go out and enjoy the beautiful weather and let your children enjoy this wonderful new playground. We will be holding a grand opening next Spring.
**Please note that the Rocket Slide is not open yet and the road by the playground will be closed until tomorrow.**
Please be cautious, courteous, and safe when playing!

Just wanted to send out a friendly reminder that the playground is not open yet! We still have a few items to complete! We are working very hard to get the playground open as soon as possible. We all need to respect the process and be patient because the safety of children is our number one priority. DAMAGE from early use will delay the opening of the playground. Please help us finish the project as soon as possible by helping to monitor the playground and calling the City if people are using the equipment before completion of the project. There has already been damage caused which may cause a delay. Thank you!
