Finalizing plans for the 4th of July
The Garden County Community Chamber is holding a 4th of July finalizing meeting on Friday, June 20th at the Oshkosh Public Library at 4:00 pm. The 4th falls on Friday this year so the chamber is planning for a good crowd with several extra activities planned. Anyone who is looking to help give back to the community, please join us at this meeting. If you’re not sure – come check us out. You’ll be surprised by the fun and well-being you receive from volunteering. Volunteers are needed to serve the BBQ. Planning meeting for the 4th of July
The Garden County Community Chamber is holding a planning meeting on Friday, May 23rd for the upcoming 4th of July celebration at the Oshkosh Public Library at 4:00 pm. The 4th falls on Friday this year, so the chamber is planning for a good crowd. Anyone who is looking to help give back to the community, please join us at this meeting. If you’re not sure – come check us out. You’ll be surprised by the fun and well-being you receive from volunteering. A theme for the parade will be finalized along with events being held on the 4th and any pre or post 4th activities.

BRAN planning meeting
The next planning meeting for BRAN (Bicycle Ride Across Nebraska) will be held on Wednesday, February 12 at 4:00 pm at the Oshkosh Public Library. Everyone is welcome to attend this meeting. This is a great opportunity for community members to get involved and volunteer to showcase our area.
BRAN will have several hundred participants arriving in Oshkosh starting on Saturday, May 31st and staying overnight. They will begin their bike ride to their next destination in Sutherland on Sunday morning, June 1.
Entertainment and food are in the planning stages. Please plan on attending and helping with this huge event for our county.

Chamber hosting BRAN meeting
The Garden County Community Chamber will be hosting a meeting on Wednesday, January 15 at 4:00 pm at the Oshkosh Public Library concerning BRAN (Bicycle Ride Across Nebraska) that will be starting in Oshkosh on June 1. This is a great opportunity for our county to shine and show off our area as there will be several hundred people riding along with their support personnel. Anyone interested in helping or just wanting information are invited to attend. A representative of BRAN will be available via phone or video. For more information contact James Bondegard at the City of Oshkosh office. Let’s show up enforce and help put on an unforgettable event together.

Garden County Community Chamber meeting
The Garden County Community Chamber will hold a meeting on Monday, November 18 at 3:00 pm at the Oshkosh Public Library.
Plans for Santa Claus and the grinch arriving on December 6 are being planned. Anyone in the community is invited to attend. The more attendees the better. Let’s continue this Christmas tradition with another great turnout of volunteers.

On the agenda will be 4th of July planning and reports, parade theme, and fireworks license.

Garden County Community Chamber meeting
The Garden County Community Chamber is holding a reorganizational meeting on Friday, March 1 at Regional West Garden County in the nursing home activities room at 3:00 pm. 4th of July fireworks vendor is also on the agenda. Please plan on attending.
The more members that are involved the less any one person needs to do. With more participation we can concentrate on promoting economic development, and business revitalization plus fun events. Everyone is welcome!

The fireworks stand opened yesterday and we wanted to share a friendly reminder.

Please be respectful of your neighbors, not everyone loves fireworks. Be aware of where you are shooting them off (we don't want any fires or accidents), and please pick up the garbage from the streets and yards. Double-check your spent fireworks for heat before throwing them away (maybe just spray them down with some water anyway).

Fireworks Ordinance for the City of Oshkosh and Village of Lewellen:

1. It shall be unlawful for any person to give, sell, or offer for sale any fireworks or pyrotechnics provided that permissible fireworks may be sold at retail only between June 24th and July 4th each year.

2. It shall be unlawful for any person to ignite or cause to be exploded fireworks or firecrackers of any description whatsoever, except that permitted fireworks may be ignited between June 25th and midnight of July 4th of each year. Fireworks can be set off NO LATER THAN 10PM ON EACH EVENING EXCEPT JULY 4TH (UNTIL MIDNIGHT).

Community Chamber meeting
The Garden County Community Chamber will be meeting on Friday, June 16 at the Oshkosh City Park at 3:30 pm. (If inclement weather meeting will move to the Garden County News Office). Plans for the 4th of July Celebration will be finalized. Everyone is welcome to attend.
