Happy New Year all! πŸŽ‰

2024 was an incredibly busy year for our department, but we're excited to announce we're kicking off 2025 with Engine 21 back in service! As you may remember, we sent this truck out for refurbishment in May 2024 due to its age and the corresponding safety concerns that go with that. Now that the work is done, we expect to get another 10+ years out of E21 (at a fraction of the cost of a new engine)!

The truck received updates and repairs to:
πŸš’ Tires
πŸš’ Brakes and brake lines
πŸš’ Fuel lines and tank
πŸš’ Suspension and steering components
πŸš’ Extensive electrical repairs
πŸš’ LED Lighting
πŸš’ Cab reconfiguration
πŸš’ Corrosion repair
πŸš’ Paint
πŸš’ Metal Polishing
πŸš’ Graphics
πŸš’ And more!

Our members worked tirelessly to get the truck back into service just before Christmas. When putting our gear back on E21, we focused heavily on improving organization for efficiency purposes. Small changes can save us valuable seconds when transitioning from truck to action on a scene.

We want to especially thank our Town Board, Rennert's Fire Equipment Service, Inc., KR Transport LLC, RJ Marx, and community members for your continued support.

Even as the years pass, we still say because there are so many who still feel the impact of 9/11 in their everyday life, while it's just something in history books for others.

We say to honor first responders who risk and give their lives running into terrible situations to help others safely run away.

We say to express our deepest sympathy and support to the friends and family members who lost someone because of the events of this day.

And we say because the events of 9/11 continue to claim lives, and there are so many left who still need the support of their country to make the best of the days they have left.

πŸ–€πŸš’

9/11 first responders are once again fighting to secure billions in funding. Here's what the firefighters union says is at stake.
