The Oshkosh West Equestrian Team had a unique weekend at the WIHA Qualifier on September 26–27 at the Sunnyview Expo Center in Oshkosh.
Due to a highly contagious equine illness, only two of the team’s seven riders, Grace Johnson ’28 and Macy Wi******er ‘28 were able to compete. While the circumstances changed the weekend for the team, the girls showed incredible horsemanship, leadership, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Those who could not compete stepped up to volunteer, support their teammates, care for the team horses, and cheer on fellow area teams. Grace and Addy competed in their available classes and represented Oshkosh West with pride. Although the team did not qualify for State this year, the weekend was filled with teamwork, support, plenty of fun, and a little bit of “horsing around”! 🐎
