Check out these bear-y creative masterpieces! ๐Ÿป๐ŸŽจ

Last week, families gathered at Menominee Park Zoo for Black Bear Day, where young artists created their own colorful bear artwork with guest artist Deb Konen. From story time with the Oshkosh Public Library to bear-themed art activities and educational programs, it was a day full of creativity, learning, and wildlife appreciation.

This free community event was supported in part by the ๐˜ž๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฃ๐˜ข๐˜จ๐˜ฐ ๐˜ˆ๐˜ถ๐˜ฅ๐˜ถ๐˜ฃ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ ๐˜Œ๐˜ฅ๐˜ถ๐˜ค๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ ๐˜๐˜ถ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ at the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, helping make hands-on educational experiences accessible to local families.

Thank you to everyone who joined the funโ€”and to the talented artists who shared their bear-inspired creations with us!

Students were running toward the van hoping for a seat. ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿพโ€โžก๏ธ

Thatโ€™s what SEPO Executive Director Mushe Subulwa witnessed when picking up students for the Building Literacy & Academic Confidence with Kids (BLACK) program. Others found their own way to the center, hoping there might still be room.

For 93 students, this program has become more than a literacy initiative. Students are advancing in reading, building confidence, forming meaningful connections, and discovering whatโ€™s possible when someone believes in them.

One student shared: โ€œBefore joining the program, I felt like reading was something other kids could do, not me...Now, I believe in myself too.โ€

Thanks to support from donors and the ๐˜”๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜บ ๐˜š๐˜ค๐˜ฉ๐˜ช๐˜ญ๐˜ค๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ ๐˜๐˜ถ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ, this life-changing program is helping young people strengthen their skills while finding their voice and their place in the community.

One of the worldโ€™s most innovative and celebrated ensembles, Kronos Quartet will take the stage at Demmer Recital Hall at Ripon College on Tuesday, June 16, as part of the Green Lake Festival of Music's 47th season.

This appearance holds special meaning for the Green Lake Festival of Music (GLFM). Three members of the quartet โ€” Gabriela Dรญaz, Ayane Kozasa, and Paul Wiancko โ€” previously served on the faculty of the festivalโ€™s Chamber Music Institute, mentoring and inspiring young musicians while building lasting relationships within the GLFM community. Their return beautifully reflects this seasonโ€™s theme of โ€œConnectionsโ€ โ€” artists who teach, perform, and grow alongside the communities they help shape.

Our sincere thanks to donors to the ๐˜๐˜ถ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ง๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ˆ๐˜ณ๐˜ต๐˜ด at your Community Foundation, whose generosity helps support free, high-quality arts experiences that bring internationally renowned artists to our region and make live music accessible to all.

Fresh produce. Local farms. Local families. ๐ŸŒฝ๐Ÿ“ Last year, Oshkosh Area Community Pantry (OACP) guests received more than 102,000 pounds of fresh produce from local growers, and 99% said they wanted even more fresh fruits and vegetables.

This summer, your gift can help make that happen.

Thanks to an anonymous donor through the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, along with matching support from Winnebago County and the Medical Staff at Aurora Oshkosh/Fond du Lac Campus, every donation to OACP's Fresh Produce Campaign will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $65,000.

Double your impact today and help put fresh fruits and vegetables on local tables this summer๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผhttps://www.oacptoday.org/summerproduce

A once-overlooked alley is blooming into a vibrant community gathering space! ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŽจ Last summer, community members of all ages helped bring "Among the Wildflowers" to life during the Boogie Back to School Concert. Now, the completed paint-by-number mural has found its permanent home in Alta Alley in downtown Neenah.

Created by artist Emma Santiago, the mural was made possible through support from the ๐˜๐˜ถ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ง๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ˆ๐˜ณ๐˜ต๐˜ด at your Community Foundation and reflects the creativity, collaboration, and community spirit that help make our region thrive.

Alta Alleyโ€”once a former bank drive-throughโ€”is now a welcoming pocket park for people to gather and connect.

Congratulations to Future Neenah and all the partners, volunteers, and community members who helped bring this vision to life. We love seeing arts and placemaking come together to create spaces where people want to be. ๐Ÿ’™
