The Garden County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for full-time Dispatcher/Corrections Officer positions.

The applicant must be at least 19 years of age, have a High School diploma or G.E.D equivalent and no serious criminal history.
Starting non-certified pay is $20.70 hourly to $21.40 certified or successful six month probationary period. Max hourly pay depending on experience is $23.10. A $2,500 hiring incentive is offered.
Benefits include overnight shift differential, county health insurance, dental, vision, HSA contribution, uniforms provided, paid training, paid sick time, paid vacation, and retirement. Applications will be accepted until filled. Garden County Sheriff’s Office is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Due to the fast moving wildfire in Grant Co, coupled with the wind direction, Garden Co residents will most likely smell smoke today.
Please do not call 911 unless you see flames or discernible smoke pillars.
We understand everyone is on edge from the Morrill Fire- we ask that you stay calm and observant. Our hearts are with those evacuating in Grant Co.

Lewellen mandatory evac has been lifted, residents are urged to stay cautious. Please be careful going home.

Lewellen residents - evacuations are mandatory at this time for safety. 2258mtn

UPDATE - Evac point is Big Springs High School, 610 Plumb St Big Springs, NE 69122.

Oshkosh & Lewellen residents, prepare for evacuation at this time. We are working on setting up an evac point to the South and will update this post when we have one.
