Part of being a libertarian is our belief in volunteerism… Tonight we took action in that belief and completed our first highway cleanup of the year. A beautiful clear night, comfortable temps, and plenty of bug spray (no ticks for us thank you very much) allowed us to gather 5 bags of trash.

They’re looking into a contract for Flock cameras; automatic, 24/7 digital tracking that logs your license plate the second you roll into town. It’s enough to make an old lawman shed a tear of pure joy.

Now, I know you independent types are probably already itching to ruin the fun.
You did it in Appleton, you did it in Oshkosh, and I hear places like Sturgeon Bay and Verona shut it down too.

Neenah keeps kicking the issue back, but it seems they're just rallying their troops. Flock reps will be there on Tuesday, June 9th at 5pm at City Hall for the public services and safety committee meeting! It's time for us to show up strong and push back against 4th amendment violations in our local communities. We can't afford any erosion of our rights! Not one step backwards!

Mark your calendars! It's your time to shine speaking out against Flock in Neenah!

We have 2 Opportunities in Neenah for public comments about Flock on May 26th and June 9th!

At 5pm on May 26th and June 9th, there will be Public Services and Safety Committee meetings at Neenah City Hall, Hauser Room.

The City of Neenah is seriously reconsidering their usage of Flock cameras. These meetings will have open Public Participation sections that allow for comments on anything relating to public safety. Flock will likely also be an explicit agenda item on June 8th. We can expect a presentation on Flock by the Neenah Chief of Police on June 9th.

Tips:
- If you're not a Neenah resident, that's OK! We all have a stake in our surrounding communities. Mention your ties and connections to Neenah (friends, family, work, shopping at local businesses, etc).
- Email Neenah City Council members ahead of time, especially members listed as being on the Public Services & Safety Committee: https://www.ci.neenah.wi.us/common-council/
- Ask council members to meet you for coffee to discuss Flock. Come prepare with calm, fact-based arguments about why Flock as a system is not acceptable for use in our communities
- Spread the word to friends and family that care about civil liberties, privacy, and responsible policing.
- Expect the chief of police to be strongly pro-flock.
- We can do this! We've already had success in Appleton and Oshkosh. Other WI municipalities like Sturgeon Bay, Verona, and Dane County have done it too.

SITUATION REPORT: APPLETON

Dr. Freeman,

Recon confirms the City of Appleton voted last week not to continue its contract with Flock.

However, scanner units remain in position.

Repeat: the contract was not continued, but the cameras are still up.

Possible explanations include bureaucratic delay, poor communication, or the usual Combine trick of leaving surveillance infrastructure in place and hoping nobody asks questions.

Residents are advised to contact the Appleton Mayor’s Office and ask:

Why are the Flock cameras still up after the city chose not to continue the contract?

No hostile action required.

No crowbar required.

Just call the office and ask why the lenses are still blinking.

We finalized the elections at Bob's Trails End. Please welcome our brand new crew: Jordan Hansen, Jesse Steinke, Chris Olthoff, Amanda Wara, and F***y Behrens. This new lineup looks strikingly similar to the old one, which basically guarantees everything will be staggeringly great in every possible way.

The social media person is writing this from a place of pure joy and definitely isn't being extorted. I am typing this with both hands. Everything is fine.

It’s time for officer elections and I’m obsessed with the fact that absolutely nothing ever changes. We’re rolling with the same legends as last year: Jordan Hansen, Jesse Steinke (okay one new guy), Chris Olthoff, Amanda Wara, and F***y Behrens.

Do not, my friends, become addicted to new candidates. They will take hold of you, and you will resent their absence.
