EAA Chapter 252

09/26/2026

Each fall and spring, EAA - The Spirit of Aviation offers "Girls on the Fly," a full day program for girls ages 13 - 17 to experience a variety of aviation related experiences from an Oshkosh Tower Tour, to computer coding, to RC model building, flight sims, and a Young Eagle flight. Our chapter is pleased to be able to provide the flights to the participants, some of whom travel from out of state to participate in this free event. In addition to our local pilot volunteers John Forster, Ben Van Handel, Laurie Probst, and Alyssa Miller, Paul Jackson from Wipaire joined us as a YE pilot in Wipaire's Cessna Caravan on floats. Wipaire is a sponsor of the event and thanks to them and other sponsors this event is completely free. Thanks to all of our pilots and ground volunteers for helping make this event a great success. We look forward to doing it all again in April 2027.

Thank you to everyone who attended our chapter gathering on Thursday, June 11! Despite the rainy weather, we had strong turnout for the presentation by EAA staff videographer Alden Frautschy. Alden talked about the video and photo work he does for EAA, with a focus on AirVenture. He brought some of the cameras and the drone he uses for his work at AirVenture and other EAA events.

Thank you to Alden for the great presentation, and thanks to the chapter members who cooked and/or brought food for dinner or donated to help cover the meal!
