Please congratulate Behavioral Health Officer Josh Peterson on being awarded the Wisconsin 2026 CIT (Crisis Intervention Teams) Officer of the Year Award. This special award is presented to officers for outstanding service to the community that embodies the fair and kind treatment for people with mental illness and works proactively to de-escalate situations.

Among the praises within the nomination papers for this award, the following was said of Josh:
"Officer Peterson pours his heart into making our community a safer, healthier, and more compassionate place to live and grow. He has restored hope for countless individuals and changed many lives through his passion for mental‑health‑centered policing. Every day, he builds trust, strengthens relationships, solves problems, restores dignity, and creates meaningful, lasting
impacts for community members who rely on his support."

Congratulations again and thank you for all you do to improve the quality of life of people affected by mental health conditions in Neenah!

With severe weather possible over the next couple of days, now is the time to know where your safe place is located.

👉 For houses and apartments: Get to the lowest level of the building. Go to an interior room away from windows.
👉 If you are in a mobile home, you may need to leave if a tornado watch is issued and head to a safer and more sturdy building. This is to allow you time to get to a safe location before a tornado warning is issued.
