Lake Shore Drive will be closed beginning June 10th due to construction at the Water Filtration Plant.

The closure is expected to remain in place until the end of the construction project which is anticipated to be late in 2029. Reconstruction of Lake Shore Drive will follow.

Access to parking in the small parking area located at the end of Merritt Ave, near the Menominee Park Beach, will be maintained.

Sidewalks in the area will remain open. For most of the project, a grass area between the fence and shoreline is expected to remain open. Please note this is not an official detour and is not ADA accessible.

There will be increased large-vehicle traffic in the area, so please use caution and observe any No Parking signs.

Please sweep grass clippings back onto your lawn, not into the street. This can help your lawn and prevent storm water pollution.
1. Phosphorus found in grass clippings can get into our waterways and be harmful for fish and other wildlife.
2. Grass clippings can keep your lawn healthy.
3. Grass clippings can cause slick spots which can be dangerous for traffic, cyclists and pedestrians.

Big improvements are happening on W. 16th Avenue. Crews are replacing pavement and sidewalks while also upgrading storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, and electrical infrastructure underground.

The road is currently closed to through traffic, with access maintained for local traffic only. We appreciate your support as we make this important improvement for our community.
