🐻👻 Thursday, June 4th: Our teens will discover the thrill of Ancient Games at 2:00pm, and are invited to enjoy an after-hours teens-only movie night at 6:00pm with trending horror flick "Five Nights at Freddy's 2" (PG-13).

📚⏰ Friday, June 5th: Pre-K Storytime starts at 10:00am, and open play board games for all youth starts at 2:00pm.

🔬🦸 Saturday, June 6th: We are SO EXCITED to welcome Science Heroes and their summer production of "Diggin' It!" to OPL. The show starts at 11:00am and is perfect for the whole family.

About "Diggin' It!": Unearth your love for science in this fun and interactive S.T.E.M. show for the whole family. With help from audience volunteers, we’ll conduct exciting experiments about the changing states of matter, pressure, and more — while raising a shovel to scientists who work with dirt! If you didn’t already love science, you’ll really ‘dig it’ after seeing Science Heroes in action!

Before books, there were cave walls. For millennia, stories were shared without pages, chapters, or even written words. Stories were instead painted, the marks left behind for others to discover, add to, and remember.

Today, our community kicked off a summer of storytelling by creating a collaborative cave painting inspired by our "Unearth a Story" national theme. This prehistoric masterpiece will be on display at OPL for the next several weeks, celebrating both the oldest form of storytelling and the new stories we'll uncover together this summer.

🎨📚 Unearth a Story with us this summer! 📚🎨

Kick off the library’s Summer Reading program by helping create a community cave painting inspired by this year’s national theme, Unearth a Story. Guests of all ages are invited to add their own prehistoric-inspired artwork, symbols, and handprints to a collaborative piece celebrating storytelling through history.

Join us as we explore the ways people have shared stories for thousands of years — from cave walls to library shelves. Stop by, get creative, and help us start the summer with a work of art created by the whole community. 🦴✨
