The Mitchell County Planning and Zoning Department's publication in last week’s paper incorrectly listed our parcel number on a public hearing notice. Please contact the Planning and Zoning department at the courthouse for questions regarding what parcel number was meant to have been published.

Our parcel, where the Second Interconnect site is currently being built has already been rezoned from Agriculture to Light Industrial (NOT Heavy Industrial), prior to construction starting this spring. This is to provide redundancy for our customers, and to allow for repairs to our current system. No additional construction is planned at this site.

See below for more information that was shared in this month's newsletter regarding our 2nd Interconnect.

May is greenhouse season and we know everyone is excited to continue working on those outdoor projects! Check out below to learn more about landscaping around your utility meters.

Do's:✅
- Keep meters accessible
- Do not plant trees or shrubs in front of or behind the meters
- Keep landscaping materials below the riser valve

Don'ts: ❎
- Let overgrown weeds or shrubs cover the meter
- Do not bury or cover the emergency shut off valve with dirt, stone, etc.

And as always, if your projects include any digging deeper than 12 inches, make sure you call Iowa One Call so you know you can dig safely - it's the law!
