The Orwell Volunteer Fire Department will be conducting a training exercise on Fisher Road this Saturday morning beginning around 7:00 AM.

Residents in the area may notice emergency vehicles and personnel throughout the morning. This is only a training event.

Please no open burning. Looks like some rain is in the forecast so definitely hold off.

From the National Weather Service:

Near Critical Fire Weather Conditions Today for Much of the Area...

Areas from the Champlain Valley eastward will see another day of near critical fire weather conditions today. Minimum relative humidity values of 30 to 35 percent are expected, along with south to southeast winds gusting to 25 mph. Meanwhile, the remainder of northern New York will see increasing relative humidity as a frontal boundary and widespread rain approach from the west. This rain will cross the region from west to east tonight and Thursday, bringing a widespread wetting rain. Rainfall amounts of a half inch to 1 inch are expected.
