The Oroville Police Officers Association was proud to support students at Wyandotte Academy by donating new shoes.

Our newest K9 team, Detection K9 Loki and his handler Officer Vanpoole, had the opportunity to deliver the shoes and spend time with the students. It was a great way to connect with the kids and show them a little about the important work our K9 teams do in the community.

Supporting local youth is incredibly important to our officers, and opportunities like this remind us how strong our community truly is.

This effort would not be possible without the support of our community. Fundraising efforts and generous community donations allow the Oroville Police Officers Association to give back and support programs that directly benefit local students and families.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our officers and our community initiatives.

✔ Pre-arrival instructions and helpful information when appropriate
✔ Notifications if response is delayed due to higher-priority calls
✔ Call resolution updates (contact made or case status)

🐾 Meet Our Newest K9: Loki! 🐾

You may have spotted him around the city these past few months, but it’s time to make it official—please welcome K9 Loki, our newest four-legged partner!

Loki is a sleek, shiny black Labrador Retriever who has stepped confidently into his role as a narcotics detection K9, and he’s already proving he means business.

On duty, Loki is all focus—bright and early every day, eager to hop into the patrol vehicle and get to work. Off the clock, though, it’s a different story. Loki goes absolutely wild for his Nerf gun ball launcher, loves burrowing into his blankets, and is fiercely protective of his handler, Officer Vanpoole—especially at the car wash.

Loki and his “brother from another mother,” Oreo, are getting along great. The two have formed quite the duo, happily stealing each other’s toys and treats whenever they get the chance.

A very special thank you to Oroville Tractor Supply for their generous $500 donation to the K9 Program last November. Your support helps keep our K9 teams trained, equipped, and ready to serve our community. 💙🐶

Welcome to the team, Loki!
