Hot weather is coming—keep your pets safe from the heat!

• Make sure they always have clean, cool water.
• Keep them inside during the hottest parts of the day.
• Test pavement with your hand — if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for paws.
• If they need to be outside, give them shade and fresh air.
• Never leave pets in a parked car; it gets dangerously hot fast.
• Watch for signs of overheating, such as excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting or confusion.

Community preparedness starts with strong partnerships.

Last week, Butte County Public Health Emergency Preparedness hosted partners from 13 North State counties for a regional preparedness meeting focused on strengthening emergency response coordination across our communities.

Butte County also showcased the Disaster Medical Services Unit (DMSU), a state emergency resource maintained locally by Enloe Health for rapid deployment during large-scale incidents, including the Camp Fire response.

Working together today helps keep our communities prepared for tomorrow.
