⚠️ Storm Damage Repair Information ⚠️

If your home or building has been damaged, please read this post for important information and guidance.

If your home or building has been damaged:
1. Evacuate any unsafe structure immediately and notify emergency personnel.

2. Once notified, Emergency Service Agencies will coordinate with the Department of Development Services for the building safety inspection. If the building is determined to be unsafe, it may be Red Tagged until the required repairs are properly completed.

3. Permits are required for most repairs. For more details on repair work that requires a permit, see the information below or contact the Building Division.

4. Need help finding a licensed contractor? Licensed contractor lists are available through the Contractors State License Board at CSLB.ca.gov.

5. Protect yourself by verifying contractor licenses for work exceeding $1,000 in labor and materials.

🔨 Repairs and Building Permits:

• Required Permits: Some minor repairs requiring a permit may include changes to electric and gas service equipment such as reconnecting services equipment, changing or repairing electric service conductors, service masts, and weather heads.

• Minor residential repairs not requiring a Building Permit include:
- Siding replacement or repair of 100 square feet or less
- Roof covering replacement or repair (shingles, tiles, etc.) of 100 square feet or less

Disclosure – Emergency Permits and Work:
In an emergency situation where equipment replacements or repairs must be completed, the permit application shall be submitted within the next business day.

Butte County residents living in the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) may dispose of green waste for free at the Neal Road Recycling and Waste Facility on the designated days listed below.
