May is Wildfire Preparedness Month, and Butte County is taking the opportunity to advance three important community mitigation plans that will better guide decisions on the safety, connectivity, and preparedness of our County: an Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), a Foothills Connectivity Action Plan, and a Roadside Fuels Reduction Plan.

These plans are essential for not only preparing for and responding to emergencies, but also for securing funding to address the issues identified within them. To ensure the plans are as effective as possible, public input is vital. The County will conduct surveys and host several community meetings in May to gather input on these three plans. Residents are strongly encouraged to participate and share their valuable perspectives, because true preparedness begins with community. All three plans will be finalized in 2027.

Read more about the plans, find the Public Input Meeting Schedule, and take the Broadband Survey at www.buttecounty.ca.gov/2201/Mitigation-Plans.
