On today's date at 12:39 PM, Oroville Police received a call of a collision between a train and a pedestrian at the railroad crossing located on Mitchell Ave near Pine Street. Officers arrived on scene. The pedestrian was deceased upon arrival. The name of the decedent is being withheld until notification of next of kin.

Preliminary indications are the decedent made threats of su***de by train moments before the collision.

Union Pacific Police Officers arrived on scene and assumed the investigation. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Union Pacific Railroad Police at (916) 789-5957.
