🎄Holiday Tree Pickup🎄

After December 26th Recology offers curbside holiday tree collection on your normal organics collection day. Once you've removed all of the tinsel, lights, decorations and stands from your holiday tree, you can leave it next to your residential carts.

*Please make sure trees are cut into lengths of 3 feet or less.

This year when deciding on wrapping paper try going simple. Most wrapping paper is not recyclable because they contain glitter, foil, or a thin layer of plastic. Plain and simple wrapping paper is recyclable and can be personalized to be just as festive.

Next week the City will be conducting a required annual inspection of trash, compost, and recycling from Monday, Nov. 13th, through Friday, Nov. 17.

Per a recent state law, SB 1383, the city is sending inspectors out on trash days to evaluate containers for misplaced items. Depending on your performance, they’ll either leave an “Oops!” tag with information about what went wrong, or a “Good job!” tag for proper sorting.

A random selection of 2% of Oroville bins will be subjected to inspection, meant to track how well the city is keeping unnecessary items out of the landfill or contaminating its compost, and to educate residents on how to improve their disposal.
