Oroville's Old Time Fiddlers

Oroville's Old Time Fiddlers Oroville is the birthplace of the California State Old Time Fiddlers Association The winners go on to compete in the National Contest.

In 1960 a group of country musicians organized to have regularly scheduled Jam Sessions in Oroville. This group grew into The California State Old Time Fiddlers Association which now extends from Redding to San Diego. The California State Open Fiddle and Picking Championship Contest is still held in Oroville each year. Oroville will send 4 California State Champions to the National contest in June 2011

The Oroville Old Time Fiddlers promote and perpetuate Old Time Fiddle Music by:
1. Performing at Community Events
2. Holding Monthly Jams on the Fourth Sunday of each month from 2-5Pm at Orovilles Municipal Auditorium
3. Providing scholarships for Fiddle lessons for those interested in Old Time Fiddle Music
