The City of Oronoco invites residents and visitors to join in remembering and honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Memorial Day ceremonies will be hosted by Oronoco VFW Post 9647 and Auxiliary:

• Bridge Ceremony
🕗 8:00 AM
📍 Oronoco Bridge (Downtown Oronoco)
• Traditional wreath on the water
• Cemetery Ceremony
📍 Oronoco Cemetery (5th St NE)
• Immediately following the bridge ceremony

Let us come together as a community to pay tribute and show our gratitude.

City offices will be closed Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.

📢 City of Oronoco – Notice of Filing for City Office (2026 Election)

Filing for city office in the City of Oronoco will open this summer for the 2026 municipal election.

🗓 Filing Period:
July 14, 2026 – July 28, 2026
(This period differs from other areas as Oronoco does not hold a primary)

The following positions will be on the ballot:
• Mayor
• Council Member – 1 seat (4-year term)
• Council Member – 1 seat (4-year term)

📍 Affidavits of candidacy must be filed with the City Clerk at Oronoco City Hall.

* PUBLIC NOTICE* - Tonights May 19th City Council Meeting Has been CANCELLED.

Due to a variety of unique and unavoidable circumstances, tonight’s regular City Council meeting has been cancelled due to a lack of quorum.

“Under Minnesota Statute § 412.191, a majority of council members is required to constitute a quorum in order to conduct official business. Without a quorum present, the council is unable to proceed with a meeting.”

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. Please watch for updates in the coming days for a rescheduled date. We are working to regroup to address the current agenda as soon as possible.

2026 Downtown Oronoco Gold Rush Days is just 90 days away! Join us in celebrating community and tradition during the 54th annual 3 day event, COMING August 14, 15 & 16!

🚧 Road Construction Update: CSAH 3 🚧
Beginning Friday, May 15, 2026, Olmsted County Public Works will start a bridge replacement and paving project on County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 3.

🔨 Project details include:
-Replacing the bridge over the Middle Fork of the Zumbro River (about 1,000 feet south of 8th Street SW in Pine Island)
Resurfacing CSAH 3 from 8th Street SW to CSAH 5

🗓 Work is expected to be completed by the end of August 2026, weather permitting. Minnowa Construction is the prime contractor.

🚦 Traffic impacts:
- CSAH 3 will be closed to through traffic
- A detour will be posted
- Access will be maintained for residents within the project area
- Motorists should expect delays and consider alternate routes
