Learn to Identify and Manage Invasive Plants in Maine 🌿

Join University of Maine Cooperative Extension for a series of invasive plant educational workshops designed to help landowners, gardeners, and community members recognize and respond to invasive species in their area.

The first workshop in the series will be held in Somerset County on June 9 and will feature practical information on identifying invasive plants, understanding their impacts, and exploring management strategies.

Invasive plants can spread quickly and outcompete native vegetation, making early detection and action important for protecting Maine's landscapes and ecosystems.

Here we come! Tomorrow 6/5/26 we will be running through town with the torch raised in the air. It's for the smiles. It's for inclusion. It means the world to the athletes and even more to us. Line the streets and show support for all the athletes that will be competing in the 2026 Special Olympics Summer Games.

We pick up the torch at the Veazie/Orono town line @ approximately 3:15 P.M. We will make our way to the Steam Plant lot (College Avenue) where we will be met by surrounding agencies to complete the Final Leg and officially start the games at The University of Maine.
