The proposed project, estimated to cost more than $7 million, would expand the library’s footprint from 6,500 to 13,750 square feet.

Please help us to fill the Orono Town Council Chambers with library supporters at a public hearing on Monday, December 11th at 5:00 p.m.

The Town Council will consider a request for funding from the Foundation for the library expansion project.

Both Senators Collins and King have included $3.6 million dollars in funding in the budget to support this expansion. We are waiting for the FY2024 federal budget to be approved by the full House and Senate.

We are also planning a capital campaign to raise $1+ million in individual and business donations and grants for the $7+ million project.

The third part of our funding plan is support from the Town of Orono. The Council is considering $2.6 million in Town funding.

If you can attend, please consider speaking at the hearing in support of the library.

This Thursday!

Local author, Bob Klose, has written another book! Copies have arrived at the library and are available to purchase. We will host a book signing on Thursday, November 9, 6pm.
