Friends of the Orono Public Library

Friends of the Orono Public Library FOPL helps our library staff provide programming with hands on support and some extra funding which we raise through donations and selling donated books.

New Friends are always welcome!! Since 1993, the Friends of the Orono Public Library has supported library programs for children and adults, including: magicians, puppeteers, storytellers, reading groups, summer programs, holiday events, and provided annual Maine Discovery Museum, Maine State Parks, Versant Power Astronomy Center, and Penobscot Theatre Company passes for any patron of the library. In addition, the Friends donated $20,000 toward building the new library and the Orono cookbook project.

We are excited to share that our friends Dewey and Emily Hasbrouck at Woodman's Bar & Grill are hosting a benefit for the Orono Public Library Foundation's Achieving the Vision Campaign. Mark your calendar and come for lunch or dinner on Wed. July 29th . Woodman's will contribute 10% of the day's sales to the campaign!

We are grateful for this wonderful (and delicious) support from Woodman's!

Do you have what it takes to beat the Orono Public Library staff at Trivia?
Come test your skills at Woodman's Bar & Grill next Wednesday July 29th! Trivia starts at 7:30, and 10% of your meal will go towards supporting the Achieving the Vision expansion project.
Winners will go home with library themed goodies!
