May 1 is First Responders Day, a time to recognize the dedication and sacrifice of volunteer and paid responders across Nova Scotia.

We especially thank those who work alongside us during searches. From 9-1-1 call takers and dispatchers, to police, EHS/EPSO, fire services, Public Safety Field Communications, DNR, JRCC, volunteer support groups, and GSAR teams across the province, every role matters during a critical incident.

No matter the uniform, agency, or task, we share the same goal: bringing lost and missing persons home and helping our communities in times of need.

You truly embody HSAR’s motto: “We serve as one, so others may live.” We are proud to serve with you.
