🚨UCF HAS DEMONSTRATED ACTIVE COMPLIANCE WITH ICE.🚨

In the article mentioned above UCF has confirmed 15 students have had their visas revoked and one has been detainted. It is no surprise that this is occuring promptly after UCF has signed on to collaborate with ICE’s efforts to uproot immigrant students.

A sighting of ICE on campus along side the meeting students were told was just for council, in combination with the notification that there would be no grace period following termination is EXTREMELY ALARMING!

We need to be vigilant and ready to protect our international students as UCF has shown no interest in doing so.

Once again UCF is proving they DO NOT care for their international students! Not only Partnering with ICE UCF is forcing global students to attend in person meetings after informing them of a potential termination of their SEVIS. This comes with no previous notice, explination or grace period.

The Student Body is watching! Now is the time to be vigilant and ready to protect our comrades.

Stay Safe and remain aware of the continued malintent push by UCF.

Wrap up the semester with YDSA at our field day this Saturday from 12-5! RSVP in our bio for the location.

We’ll be playing some games and making some food too. Bringing food to share not mandatory but encouraged.

Join us this March 25th at 7:3pm at Lake Claire for a screening and discussion of the anti-colonial classic The Battle of Algiers .

The movie follows the the Algerian resistance led by the Algerian National Liberation Front against French colonial occupation. An important movie for understanding anti-colonial struggle and today’s colonial occupation of Palestine.

UCF YDSA condemns our Fascist governments unlawful detention of Mahmoud Khalil. The Trump administration continues to show its fascism through weaponization of ICE, seeking to suppress activist’s rights. We must act against these tendencies and stand strongly in solidarity with Mahmoud. Now is the time to make sure our voices our heard and demonstrate we stand strong behind all liberation movements!!

SFEP (Students for Education in Prison) and the Political Development Committee of YDSA (Young Democratic Socialists of America) hosted a collaborative teach-in regarding prison abolition. We discussed the prison industrial complex, its disproportionate harm to people of color, and the urgent need for abolition.
