Cypress Park Elementary School is a small Title I VPK-5th grade school nestled in the heart of the Taft neighborhood of Orlando, FL. The school opened its doors back in 1959. During the 2017-2018 school year we will be under construction as we prepare for a new main school building merged with Durrance Elementary for the 2018-2019 school year. Thursday, July 31st, 2025
Join us to meet Mr. Ortiz, our proud Principal, Assistant Principal Mr. Rock, and other dedicated SRE teachers and staff members.
For New VPK & Kindergarteners: 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM
Enjoy an overview of VPK and Kindergarten led by Principal Ortiz, followed by a mini-tour of the classroom and school (if feasible), along with resources and activities.
For All Other Students: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Take the opportunity to mingle and connect with both new and returning friends!

Our Story

Sally Ride Elementary School opened its doors for its inaugural school year in August 2018 as a merger between former Cypress Park Elementary and Durrance Elementary schools. The school will has VPK - 5th Grade classes and is a magnet school for “Aviation and Aerospace Sciences.”
