Last week was West Oaks Branch's 25th anniversary! 🎂🎉

With a week full of themed activities, community spirit, and library fun, each day highlighted a different part of West Oaks’ story. We mingled with current and former staff, learned about fire safety and preparedness from the Ocoee Fire Department, and participated in fun activities like 2001 Music Bingo!

Orange County Library System will be closed Sunday, September 6 & Monday, September 7 in observance of Labor Day. The library will resume normal hours on Tuesday, September 8.

Join us for our upcoming Citizenship Inspired series at the Taft Community Center! 📝

Beginning September 2, this four-week series will help participants prepare for the U.S. citizenship process through guided instruction. Sessions will be held Tuesdays from 3 to 5 p.m.

To be eligible for U.S. Naturalization, you must be able to read, write, and speak basic English. This program is for adult learners and is provided free of charge.

Any person requiring special accommodations to participate in a class or program due to a disability may arrange for reasonable accommodations by contacting the location at which the event is held at least seven days prior to the event.

On August 11, Orange County Library System and The Melrose Center were presented the 2026 Golden Image Award of Distinction and Judges’ Creativity Award! 🏆✨

The awards recognized the Eatonville History Preservation Project for its research, planning, creativity, effective implementation, and evaluation. Eatonville Branch manager Sara Brown and Melrose Center video production instructor Gabriel Soltren accepted the awards at the FPRA Golden Image Awards Ceremony.

🌟 Congratulations to everyone involved in this outstanding achievement and for helping preserve and share Eatonville's history!
