We are starting restorations at 1418 Clouser Ave, Orlando, FL, where Jack Kerouac wrote The Dharma Bums! We Welcome Frank Roark, our general contractor, who has extensive expertise in renovating historic structures. We sold our one asset property which brought us our only passive income in order to keep the house from being condemned. We will start restorations and also begin fundraising for operational costs 2028 and beyond. Our operating costs are about $25k a year and we need your help to keep this amazing place going.

We are so grateful for the St. Pete house hosting our summer 2026 resident while we deal with restorations. Stay tuned for future news on this. We will have her Welcome potluck and her final reading at the St Petersburg house. Her Welcome Potluck is scheduled for Saturday, July 18th, at 5169 10th Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL 33710.

If you can, please consider donating to our Pay It Forward applications fund. This fund helps writers in need that aren't able to meet the application fees for our residency application period (due soon!). Note, our application fees help pay for our residency and none of our staff are paid. We are a fully volunteer nonprofit organization.

We are in the midst of going forward with our projects for the house. Our residencies will reopen in 2027. We are currently in our application period for those residencies.
