May this light represent love, remembrance, and the enduring strength of a community that still stands united to honor the 49 angels and all those forever impacted by the tragedy at Pulse on June 12, 2016.

They are
 Forever embers in our orbit.
 And we carry them,
Guiding us back to one another
 Like constellations,
 Showing us
How to keep choosing love and joy.

Excerpt from “Forever Embers in Our Orbit”
Poem by Camara Gaither

——🕊️

Ten years ago, our community was forever changed.

To mark a decade since the Pulse Nightclub tragedy, we invite the community to visit the Terrace Gallery at Orlando City Hall for Created in Community: Portraits of Pulse.

This exhibition features 49 collaborative portraits honoring each life taken. Designed as paint-by-number works by local artist Jeff Sonksen and completed in 2017 by families, friends and community members, the portraits became a shared act of healing, with some intentionally left unfinished.

First displayed as part of the Orlando Traveling Memorial, the collection has traveled throughout Orlando and to Chicago before being acquired by the Orange County Regional History Center in 2024.

The exhibition is on view through August 23, 2026. Learn more about remembrance events and activations taking place this week at PulseOrlando.org.

Following the Pulse tragedy, blood donations helped save lives. Today, the need remains just as important.

Honor the spirit of Orlando United by donating blood and helping ensure lifesaving blood is available for those who need it most.

Day of Remembrance Blood Drive
🗓️ June 12 | 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
📍 Orlando City Hall
Schedule your donation today pulseorlando.org/Events

Donors will receive a $20 eGift Card, a OneBlood Pulse t-shirt and a free wellness checkup.

Every person in our community has the ability to save lives. Donating blood takes only about an hour of our time, but means so much to a patient in need.

Susie and I were happy to donate through OneBlood today and encourage you to donate as well if you're able to.
